January 2009 – ITW Heartland continues the organizational roll-out of the 5S program as the initiative was recently launched in the Strategic Assembly Solutions division to improve workplace organization, flow, and efficiencies while eliminating waste and improving work flow.

“We are able to utilize our internal trainers who had successfully launched the program in the Manufactured Products division,” said Sheri Anderson, Strategic Assembly Solutions Business Unit Manager. “A core team was assigned to develop a plan to sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain our shop to not only display organization but to gain efficiencies in the manufacturing process.”
