ITW Heartland Announces Canadian Contract

ITW Heartland was recently awarded a retooling contract for the General Motors plant in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. With the long-standing alliance with General Motors in the gear inspection and burnishing industry, ITW Heartland will provide service, set up and final installation in the Canadian plant.

The scope of the project includes retooling and refurbishing four existing production lines, each consisting of a burnisher, automatic checker and other auxiliary equipment. ITW Heartland ensures all components meet General Motor’s strict specifications in the areas of UL, safety and component selection. In addition, Heartland’s machine builders and engineers conduct machine functionality, including machine dry cycling and gauge R&R testing, to ensure factory and customer acceptance.

Final installation and operator training will conclude the project in early 2011.
